Dreams has Change My Life

As a Javaneese girl, I believe that dreams sometimes can be a warning. This warning can be for a good condition or bad condition. One of the warning in Javaneese tradition is that when we dream bite by a snake, it means that we’ll meet our soulmate. Someone that’ll become our husband or wife.

When I was 21, I have a boyfriend. He’s a policeman. We’ve become a couple for 4 years. It’s a long time. My family and his has thought we’ll get marry someday. We have that vision, too. We only need to wait I finished my college and he got a settled condition in his troops.

As a policeman, he sent to many places with differences duties. But as long as we can send letter to each other, there are no problem. But one day, I realize that he hasn’t send me any news for almost 2 years. I can’t contact him. No phone calls. Nothing. Of course, I feel confused.

One night, I dream he came to me by a helicopter. Of course he looks so cool. We got marry and then we have a baby. But then, there are peoples who come to our home and hunt him. I trapped in that war, so I have to run away and save our baby.

It’s a nightmare for a girl who wait for her boyfriend. But thank’s god it’s just a dream. I wake up and pray the best for us.

A few month after that, my father called me. He said that my boyfriend make a phone call to our home, but my father find that my boyfriend has changed. He told my father that he allow me to get marry if I found someone else. That’s a very bad news for my father. I cried for so long. I feel so upset about him. 4 years and just that? I think the nightmare is a warning for this bad news.

At that down condition, I met another boy. He’s so serious. He didn’t ask me to be his girlfriend, but he asked me to be his wife. It’s so ... unpredicted because I know him since I become a college student. As long as that 2 years, nothing happen. So, I got confused.

In the confused condition, I got another dream. This time, I stand in front of cave. In the cave, there is a snake -big snake- that sleep. The snake done nothing although I think I’ve been standing there for so long time. So I walk away and found another cave. In the second cave, there is a small long snake that suddenly bite me. The hurt feel so real so I wake up and cry for a while.

After get that dream, I let my boyfriend go. I lost contact with him and never try fo find him anymore. I know I ever love him. But he has changed. So, I will let him free. This decision is not easy, but I think I got to do it because I want to control my life. I want to be happy. And I don’t want to be treated like that. So, he’s free to choose his way.

And the boy who asked me to be his wife? He’s the father of my 2 daughters now. He’s kind and understand me. He always do his best for us. If I remember how the first boyfriend treat me, I thank’s God that I found my husband. If I choose him, maybe I won’t get all my achievement today.
